A Message from the CEO

Our organization concluded the 2019-20 fiscal year by starting a new chapter as Nurture the Next. For nearly three decades, we have been a proud member of the national Prevent Child Abuse America organization, donning the name Prevent Child Abuse Tennessee. While our mission and our affiliation are staying the same, our new name emphasizes what we do, rather than what we prevent. 

We are working with families to raise the next generation in nurturing homes, where children are valued and loved. Our research-based programs not only improve the lives of the children and parents we serve, they are an investment in our communities and in our collective future. Nurtured children grow into resilient, capable adults. Our communities are better when they are filled with strong families whose children are being given a solid foundation on which to grow. 

With the unprecedented challenges we have all been facing in 2020, it would have been easy to postpone our re-branding and put this transition on hold. As we look at the fiscal year ahead and the growing needs of families across Tennessee, we know we made the right decision to move forward. Our new name removes any stigma or barrier to participation created by our former name; our work is solely positive and proactive, and now our name is too. We know we will reach more families as Nurture the Next, and we appreciate your continued support as we take full advantage of the opportunity to reach more families and children across Tennessee.
